Remembering rain

When we returned from San Diego, it rained for a couple of days in a row....

Rain drops on the wisteria.

San Diego by the Bay

If you have dinner at the Bali Hai some evening, time it right so you can see the the San Diego waterfront across the bay painted in pinks and golds by the setting sun.

Not a very good quality photo, but you get the idea. Taken through the window of the restaurant, with my little Canon's 6 times zoom.

Buttermilk Skies

CT calls this kind of cloud formation "buttermilk skies." I had never heard the expression before I met him.

By whatever name...it's awe inspiring when seen over an expanse of mirroring water.

A day for ships.....

The prow of a sailing vessel in San Diego...reflected in the water...

But, I wonder why the number skip from 9 to 20?
It's very curious and that is why I took this photo.

The USS Midway...a porthole seen through the glass log...more numbers...

Shimmering Seas

On a long weekend to San Diego, from atop the 1200-feet-above-sea-level tip of Point Loma, I was held spellbound by the shimmering silver sea....

A rose is a rose....

A gift from a good friend....

A small brooch, no more than 1-1/2 inches across....I had tossed my jacket on the passenger seat of the car and then noticed how the rose glinted in the sun...and the shadow it made, and the pretty blue-white contrast....so here's a photo of an unexpected moment.

Cookies

The cookies I made last week are only a memory.....but I'm glad I took photos. It'll probably be another five years before I make them again....too tempting and bad for the waist line.

Wish I had some right now though; they'd be perfect with a cup of tea.

I've been sitting here vegged out in front of the computer, over on my other blog, trying to think of something clever or interesting to say...to no avail. Too tired from an extra busy day at work....maybe tomorrow. Until then, I shall drink tea and dream of melt-in-your-mouth shortbread cookies.
